New Energy Audit Grants Available
The Wyoming Energy Authority, through its State Energy Program, has launched a new grant program providing energy audits for agricultural producers and rural small businesses.
Cheyenne, WY – The Wyoming Energy Authority’s State Energy Program has launched its first grant opportunity for 2021 – a grant for energy audits for agricultural producers and rural small businesses.
The Agriculture and Rural Small Business Energy Audit grants are available to agricultural producers statewide, and to small businesses in rural areas looking for assistance to identify cost-effective opportunities to lower their energy usage. Grants can be used to complete an energy audit.
The maximum grant amount is $3,000, with a 25% required cash match. The grant requires a Level 2 Energy Audit by a certified auditor. The grant is available to all agricultural producers in Wyoming and to rural small businesses. A rural small business is defined as any business operating in a community of less than 50,000 people.
Grant applications are being accepted now and the program will be open until all funds are expended.
The State Energy Program will also provide 2021 grants to K-12 schools for lighting retrofits, local governments for energy efficiency retrofits, and small businesses for energy audits and retrofits. Applications for those programs will be open from April 19 – May 28, 2021.
